Peace and unification on the Korean Peninsula are
the greatest heritages of our nation and our work today!
the greatest heritages of our nation and our work today!
We share peace. According to UNICEF officials, the “brains” of North Korean children are increasingly getting smaller
due to food scarcity that have been going on for decades. If these children grow up without proper food intake, their
abilities to think professionally, diversly and complexly will be severely damaged. It is heartbreaking to think that
children of north and south Korea will grow up, marry, have children and lead the future of the Korean peninsula
together in the post-unification era. Supporting the people of North Korea is neither “tomorrow’s work” nor is an
“option” that we should choose to do. It is “today’s work” that “must be done” considering the value and future of the
unified Korean peninsula. And we must face the peace and unification of the Korean Peninsula with this perspective
and mindset and not make foolish mistakes of missing the right time. In terms of land, population, resources, national
competitiveness, and other factors, South Korea is already at its limit. Therefore, we must unify our lands and pass on
the legacy to our children so they can overcome the crisis and reach their full potential. To this end, it is critical that
we work together to transform our nation’s “hostile and unstable” structure into “peaceful and stable structure”.
This, of course, is just a process that will simply take us one step further to unification. Therefore, we and church must
be used as tools to achieve our objective. I dare to say this is the will of God because “God, Lord, and the Holy Spirit
are the peace.” If we, especially the church, has a strong determination toward it, peace and unification on our nation
will be achieved in accordance with the “Way of God” in the “Time of God” un-der the sovereignty of God, who lives
today. The “Green Season of Christ” will also come to the northern land. He shall use the “history of peace on the
Korean Peninsula” to achieve world peace. “It’s the kingdom of God” and we must wait preparing for this time. To this end,
we started the Peace Dream Forum in anticipation of a “butterfly effect” with “small gestures”. We are trying to carry
“national reconciliation”, “inter-Korean exchange”, “cooperation and endeavor to overcome inter-Korean conflict” in
“theory and field”. We ask for your prayer, support, and encouragement. Thank you.
The Peace Dream Forum has three meanings: dreaming of peace (dreaming), actualizing peace in our community through practice and devotion (advancing the Kingdom of God) and spreading
peace throughout the Korean Peninsula and to the world (unfolding). Consequently, we took the first step by declaring June 25th (Koean War Memorial Day) as “The Day of Peace” on June 25,
2021, with the intention of broadening the boundaries of empathy and practice through the forum (and through peace awareness promoting & exchange and cooperation projects). Peace in a
conflict zone is not peace without conflict, but a journey to find a way for coexistence, harmony, and mutual growth even in the presence of conflict.
